1B Word Detectives (K-5)

Service Description

Overview: Sight Word Detectives turns sight word practice into an exciting mission! In this fun, small-group class, students become “reading detectives” as they crack the code of high frequency sight words using hands on, multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham activities. Lessons are interactive, structured, and low-pressure, helping students build confidence while having fun. Students will touch, move, build, say, and read sight words through engaging activities designed to strengthen memory, reading fluency, and spelling. Sight words are practiced in playful ways—on their own, in sentences, and in short texts—so students can quickly recognize and spell words while using them in real reading. This class is a great fit for students who: Need extra help reading and spelling sight words Know some sight words but need them to “stick” Read slowly or get stuck on common words Learn best by doing, moving, and playing Benefit from Orton-Gillingham-based instruction 🕵️‍♂️ Every session feels like solving a case while secretly building strong reading and spelling skills! It is directly before 1. Reading Detectives (Grades 2–5).
