Samantha Goodstein
Samantha Goodstein, founder of WIN Tutoring, has over 19 years of experience in teaching struggling readers. She holds a New Jersey teaching certificate in Special and Elementary Education, as well as being a certified Reading Specialist. Samantha also received her Orton Gillingham Teacher Graduate certificate at Fairleigh Dickinson University, This program is accredited at the IMSLEC Teaching Level. The International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) provides national accreditation to programs that prepare specialists in multisensory structured language education. The program is also one of only 18 universities awarded Accreditation PLUS by the International Dyslexia Association. She received her Reading Specialist Degree from University of Illinois and her undergraduate degree from Indiana University. She resides in New Jersey with her husband and two school aged children.

Lisa N. Lafferty is a special education teacher and certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner with 27 years of experience across various educational settings. She holds a Master's in Special Education from Wheelock College and a Bachelor's in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, and Psychology from Stonehill College. Trained in Orton-Gillingham and LETRS, Lisa is dedicated to providing tailored instruction, drawing from her experience with her own children who have dyslexia. She is passionate about helping students succeed and supports families in navigating the special education process.

Lisa Williams is a certified special education teacher, Reading Specialist, and Orton-Gilligham practitioner with 10 years of experience across various educational settings. She holds a Master's in Reading from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Bachelors in special education and general education from Felician University. She is a dedicated teacher whose main goal is student success.

Amy DeFeo
Amy is trained and certified in the Orton Gillingham approach to reading and writing through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education, IMSE, as well as a Level 4 IMSE Master Instructor. She has a Master's in Early Childhood Education, is currently serving as a K-8 Literacy Coach for her district, and has over 14 years of experience teaching children in grades Pre-K through 3rd. She is a certified teacher in the state of New Jersey, and a CERI certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist which enhances her ability to support diverse learners using research-based, multi-sensory approaches.
Throughout her career, Amy has created nurturing, inclusive classroom environments where young learners feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. Her teaching philosophy centers around building strong relationships with students and families, fostering a love of learning, and promoting early literacy and social-emotional growth.
Outside of the classroom, Amy enjoys spending quality time with her family, exploring new destinations through travel, and relaxing at the beach. She’s happiest when outdoors, whether soaking up sunshine, hiking, or discovering nature with her children.

Sophia Barbanel
Sophia is a dedicated educator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Boston University, where she graduated magna cum laude, and a Master’s in Reading Education. Currently in her fifth year as a public school teacher in New Jersey, she quickly recognized the need for more explicit reading instruction and began training in the Orton-Gillingham approach, becoming an Associate of the Orton-Gillingham Academy. Over the past year, she has seen significant growth in her students’ reading success through tailored lessons that address phonological and phonemic awareness, single-word reading and spelling, and sentence-level skills, all within a structured scope and sequence.
In addition to her Orton-Gillingham tutoring, Sophia has five years of experience supporting students in elementary-level language arts, math, science, and social studies. She is passionate about helping every learner reach their full potential and looks forward to partnering with families to provide individualized tutoring in both core subjects and structured literacy support for dyslexic students.

Kelly Hoekstra
Kelly Hoekstra has worked in education for 18 years and 15 of those years have been spent being a special education teacher at Kings Road School in Madison, NJ. She is a certified Wilson Language instructor, holds a degree in Elementary Education (pre-k to 6th grade), and a Masters in Special Education- Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Kelly has taught in every grade level pre-k to 5th grade in reading, writing, and math. Her passion is reading and writing and fostering student growth in literacy. Kelly creates engaging lessons in a supportive and fun environment. Kelly’s goal is to help students recognize their full potential and to develop a lifelong love of learning.

Eric Ebertly
With over a decade of experience teaching English, Eric has established himself as a dedicated educator. Throughout his tenure, he has not only excelled in the classroom but also contributed significantly to educational discourse through presentations at conferences, curriculum development, and the creation of a course centered on comics and graphic novels. His
commitment to excellence was recognized in 2020 when he received a nomination for Teacher of the Year ar Randolph High School..
At the heart of Eric's educational philosophy lies a firm belief in nurturing students' intrinsic motivations for reading and writing. By fostering an environment where learners are encouraged to explore their natural strengths and passions, he empowers them to enhance their technical skills while discovering the joy of learning.
Before embarking on his teaching career, Eric pursued his passion for English education at The College of New Jersey, earning an undergraduate degree in English Secondary Education. Subsequently, he continued his academic journey at the same institution, obtaining a master's degree in English. As a postgraduate student, Eric distinguished himself as the graduate assistant to the English department, while also participating in a prestigious student-faculty seminar focused on leveraging children's and young adult literature to promote student activism and community engagement. He graduated with honors, reflecting his dedication to academic excellence.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Eric finds fulfillment in his roles as a devoted father of two. Much of his free time is spent joyfully chasing his toddler son around the house. An advocate for a balanced lifestyle, Eric maintains a passion for fitness, enjoys hiking, and watches as much hockey as he can.

Patch is Win Tutoring's new puppy born on January 11, 2025. He is a Bernadoodle mixed with an Australian Labradoodle (otherwise known as a Teddy Bear Bernadoodle.) He came all the way from Florida from www.highfalutinfurrybabies,com. They are a wonderful breeder and you can learn all about Lexi's dream on their website.
When patch isn't cuddling with his family, he loves to lay at Win Tutoring clients' feet or taking a brain break with kids!. We look forward to putting him through the same training as Waffles as he gets older. When he's not busy being a puppy, he enjoys chewing everything he shouldn't and moving Miss Sam's materials around her office. The clients at WIN cannot get enough of Patch!
